GLAS Soil TestingA key requirement for anyone wishing to enter the GLAS Scheme in 2016 is the completion of Nutrient Management Planning (NMP), including the testing of soil for key nutrients Phosphorous (P), Potassium (K) & Lime Requirement (pH).

Apart from ensuring your soil is at its optimum level for crop growth, soil testing for nutrients ensures the protection of the environment and natural resources for the future. One of the aims of the scheme is to improve water quality and biodiversity, the testing of soil for various nutrients is an important element of this.

Applications must be made to the Department of Agriculture and there is a requirement for an agricultural advisor to prepare and submit your application.
