Food Fatty Acid Profile Testing

Our Food Chemistry Laboratory is now offering a more extensive analysis of the fatty acids composition in food matrices, using GC-FID instrumentation.

The classification of fatty acids is dependent on their structure, which determines if a food product will have advantageous or disadvantageous effects on the body. From a range of 37 fatty acid methyl esters (FAME's), we can now offer the composition of individual fatty acids in food products as well as the following classifications:

  • Saturated Fatty Acids
  • Monounsaturated Fatty Acids
  • Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids
  • Trans Fatty Acids

Omega Acids Profile:

  • Omega-3 Fatty Acids
  • Omega-6 Fatty Acids
  • Omega-9 Fatty Acids
