Food Fatty Acid Profile Testing

Fitz Scientific are pleased to announce that we have been granted accreditation by INAB to ISO 17025 for Fatty Acid Methyl Esters (FAMEs) in food products.

Our extensive analysis uses GC-FID instrumentation to determine the composition of the fatty acids composition in food matrices 

The classification of fatty acids is dependent on their structure, which determines if a food product will have advantageous or disadvantageous effects on the body. From a range of 37 FAME's, we can now offer the composition of individual fatty acids in food products as well as the following classifications:

  • Saturated Fatty Acids
  • Monounsaturated Fatty Acids
  • Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids
  • Trans Fatty Acids
