Listeria analysis of food matrices by PCR

Our world class microbiology team have recently completed validation on a rapid real time PCR method for Listeria in food matrices in accordance with AFNOR-UNI 03/09 – 11/13.

We can now offer faster turnaround times, providing our customers with the data they need, so they in turn, can dispatch fresh food produce to their customers.

PCR testing is a molecular testing method, highly specific to the target organism. It is designed to detect DNA from target organisms that have been present. The rapid detection of pathogens in foods and environmental samples is essential for fast and reliable results ensuring the safety of customers. Traditional methods for the detection of food borne bacteria use time consuming growth in culture media following isolation, biochemical identification and serology. Real time PCR methods provide negative results in just 24 hours. This validation has been submitted to INAB as an extension to scope to ISO 17025.
