Northern Ireland Soil Testing

Farms in Northern Ireland will now require soil testing before using chemical or manure fertilisers rich in Phosphorus. From 1st January 2020 all grassland farms spreading fertiliser will need to complete soil analysis to determine pH, Phosphorus (P), Potassium (K) and Lime requirement.

Under the Nutrient Action Programme Regulations 2019-2022 farmers claiming the Basic Payment Scheme must comply with soil testing requirements.

Soil analysis helps in determining the optimum requirement for fertiliser which can minimise waste, protect the environment and result in considerable cost savings to the farmer. More details on soil sampling are available from DAERA NI.

Fitz Scientific offer an extensive suite of agricultural soil tests with the service available nationwide including Norther Ireland.

The process is simple – decide how many samples you wish to take and we will send you the required soil sampling boxes by post. Fill and return the boxes and we will complete the analysis sending you a report on the soil condition.
