AT4 Testing

Fitz Scientific are Ireland's market leaders in the provision of AT4 testing and OUR analysis of compost and solid waste samples to determine respiration activity. Approved by the EPA, we're a trusted partner of Waste Disposal Facilities nationwide. We can also provide analysis to customers throughout the UK & Europe.

This testing is a critical requirement so that the nature of municipal waste accepted for disposal at a landfill facility is fully understood, meaning that the Biodegradeable Municipal Waste (BMW) content can be accurately established, tracked and reported.

The AT4 analytical method is only suitable for testing waste that has undergone stabilisation. It cannot be used to determine the BMW content of unstabilised municipal waste streams.

Oxitop pressure measuring units are used on incubated samples to determine breathing activity over a period of time. Testing meets the requirements for landfill acceptance and compost quality verification.
