Environmental & Industrial Noise Monitoring Services - NG4

Fitz Scientific can carry out environmental noise surveys in accordance with ISO 1996 1-3 Acoustics - Description, measurement and assessment of environmental noise and BS 4142:2014 Methods for rating and assessing industrial and commercial sound.

Reference is also made to the European Communities (Protection of Workers (Exposure to Noise)) Regulations, 1990 and BS 5228 Part 1, Noise and Vibration control on construction and open sites.

Our Noise Monitoring Service meets the requirements of the EPA Guidance Note for Noise: Licence Applications, Surveys and Assessments in Relation to Scheduled Activities (NG4) 2016. In general noise surveys must be conducted at least annually from licenced facilities and can include Day, Evening and Night Time Monitoring. Following the on site survey, we produce a report for submission to the EPA demonstrating compliance or otherwise with the licence conditions.

We can provide the following services:

• Assessment of broadband and 1:3 octave frequency measurements
• Recording a range of noise indices including L_AFN, L_AFmax, L_Aeq,T, and L_Ar,T
• Monitoring of background noise levels - pre and post installation
• IPPC Noise monitoring and reporting to meet licence requirements
• Assessment of tonal components, high and low frequency noise sources
• Proposed mitigation and reduction measures
